Why Choose Me?
The choice of a Physical Therapist or a Personal Trainer is a very individual choice. Through my years of experience I have learned that I cannot be an expert at all things. I truthfully will be able to tell you from a phone interview if I believe I can be the person to help you or if you need to be seen by someone else in a different setting. I believe I am the best of both worlds, meaning I am an educated trainer and a challenging Physical Therapist. I can draw from a lot of different tool boxes. I can utilize manual therapy as needed, exercise that is functional with appropriate anatomical alignment, exercise that is prevention based all while keeping your medical conditions in mind.
Cost? Is it worth it?
Is it worth it? YES! Exercise is medicine. You need to invest in yourself. I believe that the right exercise should make you feel better and the wrong exercise can cost you too much! The wrong exercise can cause you pain, injury, depression and it can still cost you a lot of money $$$! But the right exercise is priceless!!!
I am happy to do a phone consult free of charge or an in-person assessment.

Cash based Physical Therapy is also an option. $120 for initial eval and $75 for follow up appts. A doctor’s referral/prescription is required and I will communicate with your Dr. during your care. I do not bill insurance but I am happy to provide you with a superbill at the end of your treatment that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

Personal Training or Physical Therapy?
I pride myself in respect for the Physical Therapy profession as I worked hard for that degree like many others and we are regulated by the state of Missouri to adhere to ethical principles to uphold our licenses. In the state of Missouri it is currently against the law for me to administer Physical Therapy to anyone without a Doctor’s prescription (MD, DO, chiropractor, podiatrist, dentist) Therefore, if you come to me without a Doctor’s prescription you are coming to me for personal training only. If I feel like you have joint restrictions, spinal conditions or neurological conditions that may benefit from joint mobilization or manual therapy I will send you to your doctor for further evaluation, a medical diagnosis or further imaging. This may include a prescription for Physical Therapy. If a prescription is given I will progress per your doctor’s orders and keep in communication with your doctor throughout your treatment or you are welcome to see any Physical Therapist you choose. When your painful condition subsides we can return to Personal Training and getting back to your goals!
If you are medically managed with no new onset of symptoms but just need a good, safe workout then Personal Training is the route for you. I always want to provide safe and effective exercises for my client addressing the entire body, head to toe.
What should I expect during my first session?
During your first session you should expect a full fitness evaluation so please wear clothes you can move in. If you have a knee or hip issue shorts are probably best. I have a bathroom where you can change if needed. Please come with your paperwork completed from the FORMS section. If you are Physical Therapy client I will have an additional HIPPA form for you to complete. I also have a general liability form and emergency contact form that I have all clients complete for safety reasons. Our session will begin and end on time, 1 hour sessions. The hour will begin with a brief review of your medical history and a discussion over whether or not you are safe for exercise. I will take your blood pressure, your heart rate and I may take your height and weight. I will do a standing postural exam, test your muscle strength, test muscle length and flexibility and assess functional movements such as standing on one leg, squatting or squatting on one leg, overhead reaching, joint range of motion, etc. You will be required to assume a variety of positions during the exam unless these positions are too uncomfortable. I will ask for your verbal consent before any treatment is performed. Once the assessment is complete I will go over with you my findings and begin to address them on the first day with 1-2 exercises. We will then discuss the plan going forward to help you get to where you want to be.
